Shelby Carrier M.A. SLP, LC

Raised in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Shelby developed a passion for helping individuals in rural communities. She graduated from Central Michigan University with her bachelors in Communication Disorders and minors in Childhood Development and American Sign Language. She then completed her Masters in Speech Pathology and Audiology at Cleveland State University. Shelby has over 5 years experience in evaluating and treating a variety of speech & language disorders. Shelby’s favorite areas of treatment include Childhood Apraxia of Speech, severe phonological disorders, and Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders. She also enjoys working with Autistic individuals and strives to keep a neurodiversity affirming model of care at the core of her therapeutic approach. Having experienced personal difficulties finding local breastfeeding support, Shelby took it upon herself to complete a certification in lactation counseling. She is extremely passionate about providing support and knowledge to breastfeeding mothers and has firsthand experience with tethered oral tissues (TOTs). Shelby is an IAOM trained orofacial myologist, trained by Childbirth International and a member of the Michigan Speech Language Hearing Association.
